Overall I really enjoyed this experience. I thought that it was a little difficult to come to campus every five days to train since I am a commuter. I also thought it was very difficult to come and feed every day since I also work during the week. That being said, I liked how I had a partner because it relieved the pressure of having to come on two out of the seven days to feed. The most surprising thing I learned through this process is that it is very easy to bond with your rat. I also found it very surprising that rats are so easy to train and that they catch on very quickly. I overcame the misconception that rats are really scary even though I still would not like it if one was in my house. I think that this experience was amazing and I would definitely do it again!
